Meet Ms. Schwarzenbek
My name is Jen Schwarzenbek, and I am excited to share with you that I will be your child’s first grade teacher this school year! We are going to have an amazing year exploring new topics, making new friends, and growing as learners.
This will be my 21st year teaching in Summit. As your child’s first grade teacher, I will strive everyday to create an enjoyable, safe and academically stimulated environment that allows students to grow as learners, while also teaching them personal responsibility and independence. In 1S the students and I will embrace our differences and unique personalities in our classroom. Each child will be taught based on individual needs and learning styles. As we navigate this school year together, please know that we are a team. On that note, the lines of communication are always open. I believe that this communication is the key to success in your child’s education.
On a more personal note, I grew up in Westfield with my parents and two brothers. I am married to my husband who also grew up in Westfield. I have two daughter Reese (3) and Charlie (4 months). I hope the students will get a chance to meet them at some point this school year. I am also the varsity field hockey coach at Summit High School.
I look forward to working closely with each family to help every child reach his or her potential this year. Please feel free to email me throughout the year with any questions or concerns, and I will plan to do the same. I look forward to meeting you all soon!
